Intacct’s Spring 2005 Product Features Roundup Introduces First-Ever Web-Based Multi-Entity Supply Chain Application

LOS GATOS, Calif., April 5, 2005 – Intacct Corporation, the leading provider of ERP On Demand, today announced its Spring 2005 product features roundup, introducing the software industry’s first-ever on-demand business application with multi-entity ready supply chain management and on-the-fly business analytics. Intacct delivers an integrated suite of financial, supply chain, professional services automation and business analytics software as a service over the Internet for a monthly subscription fee.

One of several groundbreaking functions added to Intacct’s ERP On Demand application suite, the multi-entity supply chain management is built on the company’s patent-pending multi-entity technology and gives midsize businesses unheralded control of order entry, inventory and purchasing, allowing companies to set up, operate and merge business units with separate tax IDs, charts of accounts and workflows. On-the-fly business analytics and multiple budgets computation, also new in Spring 2005, enhance performance management and the decision-making process by letting users capture and evaluate real-time business intelligence from individual divisions or the entire enterprise.

“The on-demand business applications available today are designed on the premise that small and midsize companies operate as stand-alone silos,” said Robert J. Jurkowski, CEO of Intacct. “From regional restaurant franchises and retail chains to international distribution and manufacturing companies, there is an immediate need for Web-based ERP services that can handle complex back-end processes for distributed organizations. To understand how each business unit performs, it is no longer sufficient to periodically consolidate disparate financial data. Executives require up-to-the-minute information from all facets of the business to boost sales, productivity and shareholder value.”

Platinum Hospitality Management, a Nashville, Tenn.-based hotel developer and operator representing mid-market, select-service brands for Marriott, Hilton and Intercontinental, is leveraging a spectrum of new product features to control its rapidly growing hotel portfolio in Tennessee and Texas. Platinum Hospitality evaluated a range of accounting and ERP applications, including Microsoft Great Plains and Best Software MAS 90, before selecting Intacct for its multi-entity capabilities.

“We can compare all or a specific group of our hotels side-by-side, drill-down to the transactional level, and still keep our unique entity structure,” said Mitch Patel, CEO and president of Platinum Hospitality. “We are planning to use Intacct’s multi-entity inventory, order entry and purchasing modules to track various departmental hotel functions, including food and beverage, housekeeping, and administration and general. I know of no other on-demand service that gives us this level of freedom to run our business.”

Rather than releasing all product features at once, Intacct’s open source, multi-tenant infrastructure periodically streams the benefits of Spring 2005 to the entire customer base at no additional cost or interruption to clients’ business operations. The integrity of existing applications, integrations and customizations is preserved for every customer. More than 100 new features are now available in Intacct’s four ERP On Demand solutions: Multi-Entity Edition (for distributed corporations), Enterprise Edition (for single-entity organizations), Outsourcer Edition (for accounting firms and BPOs) and ISV Edition (for software vendors). Intacct hosts its applications and databases at IBM e-business Hosting Centers™ to ensure clients enjoy the same security, reliability and performance as Fortune 100 companies.

Highlights of the Spring 2005 product features roundup include:

Multi-Entity Supply Chain Management
Beyond running multiple warehouses, Intacct gives local business managers the autonomy to control their units’ order entry, purchasing and inventory without viewing or affecting other entities. This unique feature, unavailable in any other mid-market ERP solution, ensures companies maintain separate divisions that merge at the corporate level. As purchase and sales transactions are entered, users can select the warehouses to receive or fulfill the requests. Completed orders are automatically registered at both the unit and corporate level. Reports provide real-time views of order volumes and inventory levels at specific locations or across the company.

On-the-Fly Business Analytics
Unlike generic Web-based reporting tools, which only calculate income and spending for the whole company, Intacct enables complex business analytics, which can be tailored for specific industries. Healthcare providers, for example, now can gauge per-patient-per-bed profitability. Retail chains can calculate monthly revenue contribution by store as dollars and percentage. Hotel management companies can compare various locations on a per-occupied-room-cost, per-available-room and percentage-of-room-revenue basis.

Multiple Budgets
Intacct lets users compare multiple budgets in a single report, without importing or exporting data from Microsoft® Excel. Real-time reports can be generated to compare spending and sales between any locations or time periods. Intacct’s budgeting capabilities also let users capture business objectives for future financial periods.

Advanced ERP Reports
In addition to cash and accrual reporting, users can group multiple reports, save the customizations for future runs and automatically deliver the reports to various recipients in different formats, according to a schedule or with a single click. Report grouping gives corporate executives a 360 degree view of operations, while restricting local managers to relevant data.

Multi-Entity Allocations
Amounts can be allocated on a dollar or percent-basis to multiple entities and departments. A vendor bill relating to several business units, such as an insurance premium covering regional service centers, are distributed equally or at predetermined levels. In addition to allocating entire transactions, users can allot individual line items.

Kitting and Assembly
Compress the supply chain, reduce cycles and consolidate operations by building kits from products stored at multiple warehouses. Plus, with Intacct’s multi-entity order entry, purchasing and inventory services, users gain greater flexibility in product line utilization and accelerated response to order changes.
